Max Payne Forums are here 11th August 2008 - by biXen

After a long period of inactivity I've decided to breathe life into the Max Payne Forums again. The movie will come later this year, so I think now is a good time to get discussions going on expectations and opinions on the movie starring Mark Wahlberg. Also you can use the forums to ask about Max Payne 1 & 2 in gameform, and predict any upcoming game.

This is the first step in the plan to give PayneReactor a spitshine, but the forum right now has a life on it's own. The forum will get a new look along with PayneReactor's fresher design that's coming later. So you'll just have to bear with us with the boring template design of the forums now, we promise improvement. Anyway, head over to the forums, register, and feel free to comment on anything you want in the right forum area. We might crosspost newsposts a bit into the forum to get discussions on interesting news about the movie or anything else.

For starters, you can check out an interview with Mark Wahlberg, and participate in the poll "Will the Max Payne movie be any good?". Check out the interview where Wahlberg among other things say that Max Payne is his favourite role so far, in the forums.

Internet Explorer Issues 4th September 2006 - by

I just wanted to make a quick post to let people know that I am aware of the issues surrounding compatability with this site and internet explorer. I have quite a few things to iron out so with a bit of luck I will be getting these issues nailed over the next few days.

Thanks for the feedbac that you guys have given me and wit a bit of luck I can make the site look just as sexy in IE as it does in FireFox ;

Noticed some downtime? 24th March 2006 - by Cypress

If you noticed some downtime latley then that's because paynereactor is under heavy construction. As you may have noticed, the site supports some ads and some of the code is re-done by mattze. If one of Paynereactor's daughters is down then most likely the whole site is down for maintenance. So don't panic, where doing our very best to give you payne!

What do you want? 10th November 2005 - by biXen

Hey folks,

As the site owner of PayneReactor I constantly have plans as to what we can do to improve the site. Me and Matt (the site admin and programmer) will do as much as we can in the future to improve issues that are already pending, such as getting some articles like the Kathy Tong article in place and such. But that's not all that is important.

We want to know what YOU as a user would like to see on this site. What do you miss? What would make it more fun to visit every day? How can we make it a better experience for you? Anything you've got to say about our site. We want the Max Payne community to thrive, there's still mods coming out, so there's no need to die off.

Send me a mail with your thoughts to webmaster at paynereactor.com, with the subject "Improving PR" or click here to send me a mail. You can also slap it in the comments if it's nothing big :)

Login Revisited 12th August 2005 - by Mattze

Most of you will be aware that if you revisit the site, after logging a few hours earlier, you will be logged out. This was a tempoary security measure to ensure that our system could not be hacked easily.

Well I'm pleased to announce that if you login in the future you will be instantly be logged back into the site. This is to make your browsing more consistent and will befinately improve your experience once we get some "member only" features on the site.

Thanks as ever...

Minor annoyances 25th May 2005 - by biXen

Hi everyone,

I have to apologize for anything that doesn't work on the site nowadays, Mattze is using a lot of his available time coding and fixing things and getting ready for the launch of WakeReactor.com and I will be filling in content and news as soon as I can. From then on, Mattze will continue to improve this CMS for both the sites, and I will mainly do news posting on WakeReactor not here. We'll take on some dedicated fellas probably. If you want to reach me for some reason, the address is webmaster @ this domain. We'll have better contact info later for me and Mattze, priorities :)

New Site Design 21st May 2005 - by Mattze

It seems like all we do these days is post news about the site. Either way theres plenty going on behind the scenes so I feel like we should keep you guys updated. I have just finished implementing the new design and now that we have the final site structure in place I can start adding a few new features that I have had up my sleeve for a while now.

If there are any areas of the site that you feel are not displaying correctly then please leave a commen on this news post. That way I can see all the problems by checking this news post. Makes life easier for me :)

I should be getting WakeReactor running soon so check back in a few hours (Depends what time I get back from my night out).

Thats all for now. Hopefully things should really start to come together over the next few weeks so stay tuned for more...

Regsitration Error 15th May 2005 - by Mattze

I would just like ot apologise to everyone who tried to register yesterday and recieved an error. I made an embarrasing mistake in the Admin CP. If you recieved an error yesterday then please try again by visiting the Registration screen.

So I finally managed to implement the members functions. Currently you can register, log in, edit your details, and post news comments.

My main goal, as PayneReactors new psuedo-webmaster, is to make the site more interactive. We have always placed a great deal of emphasis on the site as a community hub and we want to promote that by allowing members to contribute in any way they can.

Over the next few days or weeks I will be implementing a wide array of user functions including file, article and news submission, the ability to comment on downloads, a private message system, and much more.

So if you are interested in being a part of the action then head over to the Registration area and sign up for your new account.

Note: For the time being new users will not recieve a confirmation email.

Some comments about the changes 25th April 2005 - by biXen

Hi all. As you can see I'm not running PayneReactor anymore. Well not actively anyway, I'm still the sites owner and all, but I've taken a step back in regards to running it. Mattze has done a great job in making a content management system for the site, and that's what we are using now. There will be a lot of added stuff here, and hopefully a general touchup at the site's five year anniversary in May.

In regards to the contest for making a top banner, Julian Unkel had the only usable submission, so he gets a t-shirt when it's made. Probably closer to summer. I'm not sure if his submission will be used yet, but I'll let you see it ASAP. It depends what changes I do if I use it or not. Anyway, enjoy everyone, come back to see more things happening here during the coming times.

Welcome to PayneReactor 16th April 2005 - by Mattze

So it's been almost 6 months since biXen made the original announcement regarding PayneReactor’s future. Some of you will have been waiting with great anticipation, many of you may have simply been curious and the majority of you guys probably didn’t give a rats ass or even know what was going on.

Well here we are. Six months later and many of you probably don’t think that a great deal has changed. To make that assumption would be a shame as the site has had a complete overhaul, perhaps not so much in design, but definitely in structure. Rather than the site being flat-file and all editing being carried out manually the site now runs on a database with a full admin centre allowing content to be updated with a greater degree of ease and flexibility.

I would be lying to say that biXen hasn’t been hard at work too. He changed a couple of the links on the main banner and even ridiculed my work on a few occasions, knocking weeks off the development time.

So it’s all good for the admin team but what’s in it for you, the user? You now have access to a comprehensive Articles and Downloads database as well as a few other features that we will let you discover for yourselves.

So with me running the site for the time being, whilst biXen takes a break, you may notice things being done a little differently. Don’t be alarmed as this is merely me doing things differently do biXen and hopefully you will like the small changes.

Aside from the above I would like to thank the Max Payne community, on behalf of myself and biXen, for bearing with us through this dry period and to look forward to more regular news, files and content.

If you have any questions, suggestions or if you just want to leave some feedback then feel free to drop me a line at matt@paynereactor.com

New Forums for PayneReactor 13th March 2005 - by biXen

Update
We have gone into a community effort to centralize forums and the community a bit. So our forums will now be at Max Payne Forums. Head over there and have a chat. If you already were registered at my forum your user should still be there. Kudos to ADM for setting most of this stuff up. I'm just a lazy bum :(

Mod needs gameplay mapper
I'm a bit slow, but aavenr, mixuk (from Remedy) and Maddieman (of Katana fame) have a project going on, and they need a skilled gameplay mapper. Read more about it in the thread at 3DR and see how to contact them.

Check out the recruitment thread

Site Status 11th November 2004 - by biXen

What is happening at PayneReactor.com?
Thanks to everyone that has offered to help me out. I've selected a guy for the site manager position. He's a very talented fella, and will convert the site to PHP. We'll see when it get's done, it's a quite heavy job. But after that it'll be a lot easier for anyone to update my site. I'll mail those of you I haven't replied to yet soon. I might have some suggestions for some of you. There's still a big interest for Max Payne, from me and from many other people.

MI: New Dawn has new shots up
Our hosted site MP2 TC, Mission Impossible: New Dawn have posted action screenshots of their mod now. I strongly advise you to check it out, it all looks great. I think this mod is going to kick serious ass.
