Max Payne 3 Features

Max Payne 3 aims to be one of the biggest, most cinematic and engaging third person-shooter of 2012. The game will be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.  Now, running on the Rockstar Advanced Gaming Engine (also known as RAGE) and powered by Euphoria Physics, the game features excellent gunplay and slow-motion effects unseen in this generation of gaming.  While staying true to the gameplay of the original games, everything has been updated to standards you expect from a modern game in 2012. And way beyond.

Here you’ll find a list of unique features you’ll find in Max Payne 3:

  • Powered by Rockstar’s Rage technology (previously seen in Grand Theft Auto 4 and Red Dead Redemption).

  • NaturalMotion Euphoria engine for animation and realistic hit detection.
  • James McCaffrey returns as the voice and likeness (full acting role) of Max Payne.
  • Online multiplayer (no more details exist).
  • Destructible environments and a cover system, however you can still go Rambo on your enemies.
  • As Max is forced to leave the NYPD, the game takes place in Sao Paulo Brazil years after Max Payne 2.
  • Health will not regenerate over time like many shooters nowadays, instead, it can be recovered by using painkillers.
  • Max’s appearance changes over time. It will show just how crazy and desperate Max becomes to survive.
  • Bullet-time is back but in a slightly updated form. More violent, more cinematic.
  • Dual-wielding is back and has a bigger role, any weapon can be thrown into the mix. A pistol in one hand and an Uzi in the other.
  • Graphic Novels return, although they have had an overhaul to be more cinematic / motion based comic book cutscenes. Supported by internal monologue.
  • The ever famous Noir style is there.
