A
little big update 19th November 2003

A long silent
era You might be wondering why it's
been so quiet here lately, well, I'm using
a lot of my free time to work on my DMW
map, some on playing the guitar, and some
on doing design and stuff, I've just downprioritized
it a bit. I've got some rather big updates
lined up though, I'm sure they'll be appreciated
once they are up, for now I'll just update
on the most important happenings lately,
the new mod stuff I post here won't be updated
in the mod pages yet, so beware, check this
post for all links and info on mods since
last time.
The Real World - Matrix filled update Maddieman has just posted a huge
pile of screenshots of the upcoming Matrix
mod The Real World on our hosted site Hell's
Kitchen. Be sure to check it out, you
can see a little teaser screen shot in this
newspost.
Max Payne 2 Console versions news
The official
Max Payne 2 website is updated with
some screenshots and stuff from the Xbox
and PS2 versions of Max Payne 2. For those
of you with a weak PC and a weak mind (
;) ) be sure to check that out right about
now. It's due out for Xbox and PS2 on the
3rd December, the port is being done by
Rockstar Vienna.
Max Payne 2 Demo is out!!!
Again, for you with potentially weak PCs,
not sure if you can run Max Payne 2 well
enough to buy it, here's your chance to
find out. Download the demo, it should include
enough playtime to have a bucket of fun,
it's 245MB and you can find it on my Max
Payne 2 downloads page.
Another DMW map (kind of)
The MurderBurger DMW map by DSilence has
been improved a lot, and is here in a new
version, well worth the download, check
it out here.
Max Payne 2 Modding
Remedy has released the tutorials for Max
Payne 2 modding, mostly concerning mapping,
but some other useful stuff too. Get them
here.
Let it be noted that they will continue
to be updated all the time as Remedy get
the time to do so.
Another good mod
Froz released a cool little mod called Battle
Tactics, it makes Max Payne 2 into a turn-based
tactical game for a little while, pretty
original, get it at FilePlanet here.

New DMW Maps DSilence has released a pretty
good DMW map called MurderBurger Inc. Check
it out in the MP2
Levels section, I've also added the
download link to Froz' Church level. Thanks
to the new great MP2mods.com
Max Payne 2 Q&A at Beyond3d.com matze of MPZone
let me know that Beyond3D
has interviewed Markus Mäki of Remedy
(Project Lead on MP2) about the game. Read
that here.
Some general news Addicted
to Gaming is the latest to add themself
to the huge
list of sites reviewing Max Payne 2
that now has an average score of 89% in
reviews according to GameRankings.com.
Deep
Six has gotten a nice spitshine, and
looks a lot better now. Maddieman has updated
Hell's
Kitchen with info that the Max Payne
1 mods The Real World (Matrix mod) and Katana
2 will be out soonish (early 2004 at latest
it seems). Check it out at his
site.
The changes on the page
As you may have noticed, I've added another
affil. to the site, updated the links
page, added an ad banner for Rockstar/MP2,
and moved the 3D Glasses ad around in the
process. I've also decreased the top spacing
with 30 pixels to create more vertical space.
BUT, and there's a big BUT here (not butt
you fool)...
I strongly suggest everyone browses the
only way to browse, with Mozilla
FireBird as their browser, for good
reasons read
this, 4% of my visitors can't be wrong
:P Well seriously, that's a lot for a browser
like FireBird, and it's really a lot greater
than IE, try
it out! Check out this
image to see my browser look and layout
for browsing. It's easy to customize.

Chateau DMW Map
TheHunted has released a Max Payne 2 version
of his map the Chateau (based on a Matrix
2 scene). It's a pretty sweet DMW map with
a lot of desctructible stuff, but beware,
it's quite hard. Go on over to the Modifications
section to get it, in the MP2 levels
section.
There's some other minor news too, but I'll
skip that for now, check that out at Deep
Six. But one little note, there's an
updated link to the RasMaster file in our
downloads section which should fix some
errors some people have had lately. Soon
more updates on the mods that are in the
workings, hang in there everyone :)
